Problem

I get the message "Desklot Error at Location 25, Error Code 429 - You Do Not have an appropriate License to use this functionality." when opening the Vehicle Edit Screen.

Solution

The OCX that is used by DeskLot to publish data to the Internet via FTP was upgraded to version 2.0.0.6 in DeskLot version 2.1.68 and above to allow setting Time Out values in DeskLot for users with unreliable internet connections.

Download the new OCX by clicking http://www.desklot.com/downloads/ezftp.ocx and save it in your c:\Windows\System (for Windows 98), c:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP) or c:\WinNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000/2003) folder depending on which one exists in your operating system.

Once saved, open a command prompt. This can be done by clicking the "Start" menu in Windows, clicking on "Run" and then typing either "cmd" or "command" (depends on your version of Windows) and then clicking "Open".

You will get a window with a black background and a blinking cursor.

Type the following:

RegSvr32 c:\windows\system32\ezftp.ocx
...or...
RegSvr32 c:\windows\system\ezftp.ocx
...or...
RegSvr32 c:\winnt\system32\ezftp.ocx
... depending on where you saved the downloaded file too...

and then press Enter.

You should get a message box that says "DllRegisterServer in c:\windows\system32\ezftp.ocx succeeded."

Open DeskLot again and confirm that you no longer get the message. If you need further assistance, please contact DeskLot support.
