Problem
I am using a multi-purpose InkJet printer (such as a HP PSC 950XI) and when I print, it keeps sending it to fax or another printer function.

Previous Knowledge Base Solution:
To resolve the problem you will need to add a new printer driver... the one that comes with Windows instead of the one that comes with your printer. You can continue to use your existing printer driver for your other applications but we need to also add a printer driver for use with DeskLot that is more standard such as the ones that come with Windows. You may do this via Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, and then Add Printer, then locate your printers manufacturer and the printer model. If you need further
Below are step by step instructions (in Windows XP):
Click the "Start" menu within Windows.
Locate "Control Panel" and open it.
From within Control Panel, locate "Printers and Faxes" and open it.
Click on "Add Printer".
You will get a "Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard" dialog box. Click "Next".
Select "Local printer attached to this computer" (assuming you are not printing to a network printer) and make sure and UN-check "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer". Click "Next.
Select the port your printer is attached to. In many cases it is LPT1 however with the trouble reports we have recieved about the HP PSC 950XI series printers, in those cases it was a port with a name similar to "DOT4...". If you are not sure double check the properties for the printer you are having problems with... we want the new printer we are adding to be on the same port as the old one. After you have selected the proper port, click "Next".
Locate the "Manufacturer" of your printer on the left column of choices and click it. Then each model of printer for this manufacturer will be displayed in the "Printers" column. Scroll through the list and locate the one closest to the model you are using. In the case of the HP PSC 950XI printer problems, we selected "HP PSC 950" which worked perfectly. Click "Next".
Select "Keep existing driver (recommended)" and click "Next".
For the "Printer Name" name it something slightly different such as "HP PSC for DeskLot"... just something that will let you know this printer was added from printing from within DeskLot so that when you print stickers, there will be no confusion. Select "No" for "Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?". Click "Next".
For sharing the printer, unless you need to, select "No". Click "Next".
For "Do you want to print a test page?", select "Yes" so that we can be sure you selected the right port and windows is printing to the new printer drive fine before we mess with trying to get DeskLot to print to a driver that is not setup properly. Click "Next" and then "Finish".
Assuming the test page printed fine. Now open up DeskLot and try to print a sticker to this new printer driver.
